first day (finally/almost) of school on his own

When I went to get him all the kids were sitting around the table -- 8 or 9 of them -- playing with clay except, of course, Matty. He was running around in circles next to the table flapping his arms.

One of his (smart?) friends said "Matthew, your mommy is here" and he looked up with a huge smile, screamed "mommy!" and gave me a huge hug!

He told me on the way home he loves school and was fast asleep in the stroller in ten minutes.

yeah!

never ever ever..

..has bedtime come so early (6pm) and so sudden.

(this is actually how daddy usually puts me to bed when mom is not around, but usually much later.)

enjoy for now mama...see you guys at 2am!

(it's what happens when mom tuckers me out extra so i will take nap, and then i don't.)

went apple picking at shelburne farms in stow, mass.

of course the tot tractors were the huge hit for me..

..but for mom this was the best!
going in for the best apples these two look great! getting a lift from dad
we even took a bumpy tractor hayride. this was dad's favorite part of the day
and on monday mom and i baked the yummiest apple pie! of course after she finished the whole sack of apple cider donuts we bought. you should see the belly on her!

breathing again as they are nestled in their "bunk beds" at almost 11 weeks old.

(if they get used to this set-up we may not have to move)

it started as a beautiful day, with m&d enjoying lobster rolls after a long walk to yankee lobster, and me chasing a cheeseburger with this cookie.

it quickly turned into tragedy...

..when this little guy stole the cookie right out of my hand!

(day ended well with matty stealing dad's pita at dinner and proclaiming: i'm a bird!)
