well babies

another perfect check-up. ben gained 2 lbs. and weighs a whopping 17lb. 11oz. jack gained almost 2.5 lbs. and is now 15lb. 15oz.
70th and 25th percentiles for weight and ~75th for height.
ben's occasional cross-eyes passed a light-dot test and we're to just "keep an eye on them."
not a pretty morning: mom forgot to pack bottles so had to introduce the 6-month sippy cup (from CVS) to soothe away the tears after the 4 shots. each.

faneuil holly

mom and i went on an adventure together. this is me waiting to board the duck boat.
she even packed me a hot chocolate!
our reflection in the hancock building
then we bought my halloween costume. my brothers like it too.
the little guys are getting bigger and drooling on everything.
**6 month doctor appointment tomorrow! can not wait to see if jack has caught up to ben  (he was 2lb. 2 oz. less last time)

dirty

there is a LOT of construction in our neighborhood...which means lots of digger, dozers, crunchers, graders, jackhammers and dirt. and everyone knows matty loves some dozers and dirt (and has a cool mom who lets him play in it)
but seriously, is it extra dirty dirt??
thankfully these guys are still into good ole clean fun. just lots of drool. LOTS. but still not a tooth to be seen.
and a couple of pictures from M's new teachers of him in action in the blue whales class:

6 months!

i will never understand how quickly we went from this:
to this morning:
i guess it seems faster when you do not remember the first couple of months.

thank you to all of our friend and family who have pitched in...the overnight helpers (my personal favorite), fellow twin mommies and their advice, the constant support and reassurance, my boston friends who are constantly rescuing them from their stroller--especially Lori, and everyone who showered matty with attention (and gifts) while he adjusted/s.

and especially to my mom, who always (mostly) answers my many, many phone calls and spoils me and my family too much.

now for the cute:

what's worse than a sick baby?

you're right, two sick babies! what a week so far. thankfully our big guy seems to have missed this one...although i am fairly certain he helped spread it with constant fingers in baby mouths...

big ben managing to get in a rest. he has been refusing to sleep in his crib for the past several nights (and days). he spent 40 minutes 'crying it out" this morning. and still did not nap.
jack requires less daytimerest. but sleeps much better at night.
ben's still all smles even when feverish and sniffly.
jack must be cutting a tooth. soon. please. he is like a naughty puppy chewing up everything. (including the corner of one of matty's favorite books...shhhhh)
their favorite shirts helped a little.
let the mess-making begin. when do babies start to crawl again? should we get one of those corrals?

failure: rub-a-dub-dub

some great inventions do not work for us. remember the moby wrap that advertises the ability to carry two babies at once...
and these cool seats may make bathtime easier with one baby (at a time).
lesson learned: three chubs in a tub is definitely not a one person job.
this is--unfortunately--only picture because rest of time was spent trying to keep soapy water out of 6 eyes, 3 mouths and 1 floor. those babies can splash!

they still fit!

and jack thought ben's hat was hilarious and kept yanking on the string. while still smiling for the camera. kid does not take a bad photo!

too much of a good thing

"faster mom!"
"my belly hurts." so much i rode in stroller and slept through mom and dad's rare late afternoon glass of wine on a trendy boylston patio...
see me spinning in action at

jumping jacks

errr, jumping ben...
ben is our only baby that has mastered a jumperoo. wild hair normal post-bath.

his brothers were not that impressed.
although this one was really, really tired from school.

school!

today was the first day of school. despite mama's best attempt, we were not the first ones there...

i was having so much fun when mom left but boy would i be ticked if i knew what my brothers were doing right now!
"wahhhhh, he's drooling on them!"
and some quality play time with the little ones for mom.
little brothers are having their nap in the stroller so mom was able to get her 4-mile run done, along with a little workout. she loves school! (and even misses the big fella!)

baby #4

one of these beauties is having a baby! can you guess who?
(it had better not be mom)

40

how many times did mama get out of bed the other night? around 40. yes, 40!! whoever said to put twinnies on the same nap/sleep schedule can go fly a kite because it is NOT possible. this is what happens (before they switch):

when mom says no...

..about buying a new toy bus and..
..i cry the entire walk/carry home from quincy market..
..guess who walks me back to buy it?
hint: it was not mom. again

by the way, mom and dad are trying to figure out how i became so spoiled.

good-bye summer!

jack and ben joined us for dinner last night. and this picture is giving mom an idea of how to get them to sleep again at night...they do not love their high chairs yet.
jack, as usual, ate his hand.
ben had every right to look terrified. especially since dad was in charge...and they were spinning. maybe a bit too fast.
they were watching bubbles. and boy were they laughing! bubbles are not that funny, are they?
this was on our walk to school for open house/meet your teachers. if you think i was excited, you should have seen mom. she skipped and sang the whole way! school offically begins on wednesday and i will be in the "big boy" blue whales class this year. all the way until 3:00!
these guys were a little hesitant about the long sleeves and pants. it was such a hot summer i think they got used to free limbs.
i am too silly to take a nice picture with the little ones.
